- Remove your pillowcase
- Check for any holes in the pillow casing
- Look for stains and treat them
- Place your pillow in your washing machine: one or two pillows depending on drum size (a pillow expands when wet)

- Use a small amount of liquid detergent: this helps dissolve the detergent and rinse more easily
